"Just as the hand can kill, so can the tongue."

This is but one of many religious teachings on the importance of careful speech about others, including other faith communities. And yet misleading portrayals, suspicions and disparagement of the other are common in casual conversation and in the public square. Clergy Beyond Borders invites you to join the Reconciliation Ride, a thought-journey re-orienting our communities  toward respectful religious pluralism.

The "Reconciliation Ride" asks people of faith to explore teachings of our own faith traditions about use of words and examine how we, as well as congregations and other groups in which we participate, speak about others. We must know where we and our brothers stand before we can arrange to meet....And, having met, move on to addressing together the many challenges ahead.

To get started, just visit CBB's Reconciliation Ride page -- Then begin asking our questions on your own. Use the prompts to discuss with others. Share your insights and challenges and suggest additional texts. Promote the Reconciliation Ride to neighbors, colleagues and friends. Support CBB's on-going work, and stay tuned for news of the multi-state inter-religious bus/caravan, "Religious Leaders for Reconciliation."

Help return our country to respectful pluralism. The more individuals and groups "on the Ride," the greater the impact!
